The diamond enhanced composite coating specifically designed to reduce wear and friction.

Duro-Chrome has been able to produce a diamond-dispersed chromium matrix composite coating for wear and corrosion ressistance by utilizing an ultra high dispersion of nanometer sized, spherical shaped diamond particales. Their unique shape allows them to perform like ball bearings and are not designed to abrade material. The diamonds carbon conductivity significantly improves the cluster formation process, especially in chromium plating with a cluster structure.

When introduced into the electrlyte, these nanometer sized diamond particles act as a catalyst increasng the ionization of the chrome, forcing the chrome ions to surround each of the diamond particles to form a crystallization center. By creating an extremely high number of these crystallization centers (up to 5 x 10 6 1/cm2) allow the excessive electric current to be maintained during the plating process creating the massive multi-crystallization process.

Due to the excessive ionization of diamond catalysis super small structural fragments are formed, so there are no microscopic voids in the surface, unlike conventional plating processes. As a result, a dense super hard diamond dispersed chromium comoposite coating increases the surface hardness while significantly reducing friction and corrosion.

Dies for powder metallurgy:
Increases life up to 10 times compared to PVD and CVD coated dies
Molds for plastic and rubber: Reduces mold injection pressure up to 25% while improving part release. Improves mold life up to 500% when molding glass filled materials.
D2 pelletizing knives: Increase life up to 300%, plus more regrinds from each blade
Drawing and forming dies: Reduces galling and cold welding, improves part finish, dies last 2 to 5 times longer, and require less maintenance.
Aluminum die cast molds: Cores and dies last up to 300% longer.
Oil pump cylinders: Increase corrosion and wear resistance from 150% to 200%.
Tube forming rolls: Reduces galling and cold welding on rolls, improving tube finish
Tube sizing mandrels: Maintain size and finish on 304 ss, better than CrN, TiN and TiAN/WC/C.

Dia-Clust enhances the surface durability and lubricity of these materials much better than the traditional alternatives.
